Selecting Your FanSelecting Your Fan
To ensure sufficient ventilation is provided for a particular application it is essential that the correct size of extractor fan is selected. Selecting the correct fan depends on two factors, Performance and Application.

To find out the size and type of fan required, first find the volume of the room in cubic metres (m3) To do this multiply the length x width x height.. Then multiply the result by the recommended number of air changes per hour for the particular type of room you wish to ventilate. Match the result to the fan that most closely corresponds to this total (the extract performance of each fan as indicated in our online catalogue).

As a rule of thumb, Domestic Toilets require 6-10 changes per hour (cph), Kitchens 10-15 cph, Bathrooms 6-8 cph.

Bedrooms require only 2-4 cph whilst Shower/Bathrooms & Utility Rooms ideally need 15-20 cph.

Bars in Public Houses require 6-8 cph whilst Cafes and Coffee Bars ideally require 10-15cph.
